Baby Jogger Summit Triple Stroller

There are many of us parents whom for one reason or another find ourselves with more children than perhaps we anticipated....this is where just one of the difficulties of transportation comes into play when you need a good solution to multiple children into one convenient stroller - the Triple Stroller was born.

Although I get asked many questions around strollers one of the least asked is around the triple stroller probably because the quantity of moms whom find themselves in this position is relatively low. However, with the propensity of IVF treatments and other factors there is definitely a rise in demand (and questions) for triple strollers. Here are a selection of views I have heard very recently;

So, the common theme with these questions is parents struggling to accommodate three children into one easy to use triple stroller system. Lets first look at what options you have in terms of format of stroller.

Inline Triple Stroller

The inline stroller is very similar to the same Double Stroller version which in my view is difficult to manoeuvre given its extended length and in most cases, I have found them to be quite heavy and with the majority having small wheels very intensive to push around town or the mall.

Side by Side Triple Stroller

The side by side or tandem triple strollers are frequently easier to push and manoeuvre given the larger wheel base and inflatable tyres. The availability of a larger shopping basket is a good plus point on most models and given the enhanced steering I have found no issues in relation to ease of use. Clearly, they are significantly wider than the side by side version but I believe the flexibility and ease of use outweighs this. One thing to consider though is the weight of the collapsed triple stroller. They can be quite heavy and bulky to pick up and put into your trunk so ensure you have a go in the shop and practise picking it up - it will be know good at all if you are unable to move it.

Can I join multiple single strollers together to make a triple stroller?

This is a common solution to the problem of transporting 3 children in one stroller. Given the low cost nature of lightweight single strollers this can also work out to be an economical method. Thankfully, some bright designers have come up with an excellent device which simply locks all your stroller together enabling you to join 2 or even 3 strollers together.
